Meet Lizzie Steen! Hey!! My name is Lizzie Steen, and I am a rising sophomore in Tri-Delta from Fort Worth, Texas. Personally, this summer has just flown by! Right after school ended, my older sister and I spent two weeks in Spain vacationing, travelling through Barcelona, Granada, Sevilla, and Madrid! Spanish culture is so incredible!
And…since I absolutely LOVE Rhodes, I am also living in Memphis with another Tri-Delt for the summer as a fellow in the Rhodes Institute for Regional Studies. As one of Rhodes' Fellowship Programs, this program encourages students to gain an understanding of the Mid-South Region. Currently, I am researching Clinton's public policy at the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. My research is on the EPA's Brownfields Redevelopment Program and how it has economically and environmentally affected sustainable development in Memphis! Essentially, I get to meet with local developers and learn about the beneficial effects of going green! The program culminates with the presentation of my research before Rhodes’ faculty in August, and the production of a very, very long paper…
Summer has been great, but I miss everyone! Can't wait to meet the new freshman during recruitment!!
