About the Sisters...

As members of the Delta Psi chapter of Delta Delta Delta, we are active on campus, in the community, and with our philanthropies. Our members are active in organizations across campus. We have members that serve on the Honor Council and on class councils, as well as service scholars who spend more than ten hours a week volunteering. Several members serve as Kinney Coordinators who organize service sites for Rhodes. Many of the sisters are involved in Rhodes Ambassadors and Rhodes College Diplomats, which is the group of students that provides tours on campus. Our members are also involved in music and the arts, as well as many star athletes on the field hockey, tennis, volleyball, softball, and soccer teams. The sisters are also involved in highly respected internships across the nation, like the Smithsonian in D.C., and in Memphis at locations like Merrill Lynch and Youth Villages. Academically, we have above a 3.0 house GPA average. Many sisters have received honors and awards for writings and published works while others have made the Dean's List for several semesters with a GPA above a 3.6. Our members also are involved in a many clubs and honor societies across academic disciplines. This is just a brief highlight about the wide variety of talent, skill, and intelligence that our sorority has amongst its members.

Our national philanthropy is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, and as the only Tri Delta chapter in Memphis, we are privileged to have the opportunity to work directly with the hospital and the out-patient facilities, like the Target House and the Ronald McDonald House. Yearly we raise thousands of dollars for St. Jude through our annual fundraiser, Delta Days. As a commitment to St. Jude, Tri Delta Nationals has pledged to raise $10 million in ten years, with each chapter contributing to the cause. This commitment to St. Jude has provided an entire floor in the new Chile's Care Center where the patients have attached rooms with a bed for the parents, instead of the parents spending endless, sleepless nights in a chair next to their child's bed. Also provided in the rooms is a Wii for the chidren to play with for entertainment. The Tri Delta floor is decorated in yellow and blue, our national colors, along with symbols of the sorority. In a recent visit to the hospital, our chapter was able to see this incredible floor and how all of our hardwork is influencing the patients of St. Jude.

We also volunteer locally at Springdale Elementary and Parkview Retirement Home. At Springdale, we participate in arts and crafts with the fourth and fifth graders, and at Parkview, we spend Friday afternoons serving drinks and snacks, and getting to know the senior citizens. All of our philanthropic activities add to the culture of our chapter and allow us to give back to the community.
